Mission Youth
Mission Youth is a community for middle and high school students to foster spiritual formation and friendships while on a journey toward Christ.
When & Where
This year, our Middle and High School programming will both meet at Mission Chattanooga on Wednesdays, 6-8pm. We’ll share a meal together and then split up into middle and high school.
Mission High
Our high school ministry has partnered with Young Life to create Downtown Club, a place where our high schoolers and peers from their schools can come together and learn more about Jesus. Through this partnership, we hope to provide space for students to continue to grow in their faith and identity as Beloved and invite others into relationship with Christ.
The vision for Wednesday night programming is two-fold, aimed at encouraging a sense of belonging, and splitting into small groups called Campaigners to go deeper into discipleship with trusted leaders. This model allows space to look inward to their own faith journey, while also empowering them to go and expand their community of faith and help others find a place to belong.
Mission Middle
Mission Middle exists to provide space for middle schoolers to establish their identity within the body of Christ. Through creating space for community, we hope to give our students the chance to build friendships with their peers, their leaders, and with Jesus.
On Wednesday nights through the school year, we gather to eat a meal together, enjoy one another’s company, hear a lesson and pray together, and break into small groups to foster deeper connections. Led by a committed team of volunteers, our small groups provide space for conversation over the lesson, prayer, and challenging students to tangibly develop their faith. All middle schoolers are welcome to drop in any Wednesday!
Once a semester, we have a month-long catechism class that replaces the lesson and small group on Wednesday nights. We use the ACNA’s catechism, To Be A Christian, to structure our time together, taking a conversational approach to establish what an integrated life of faith looks like.
